Filling the garden box with soil

While Grandpa and Johnnie made the garden box, I mixed the "special" soil. The soil is made up of equal parts peat moss, compost, and vermiculite. It took us all day to find different types of compost and the vermiculite. Not everyone carries vermiculite and the one place that carried it, did not have enough at their one store so we had to pick up the rest of it at their other location.

Here I am raking the soil into the garden box.

Here are Johnnie and Grandpa making the garden box. Johnnie was a great help. He handed Grandpa screws as he needed them. Grandpa would say "next" and put out his hand for a screw and Johnnie would give him one. Grandpa would screw it in and then say "next", and Johnnie would give him another one, and so on.

Primary Easter Party Continued

After cake decorating and some crafts was an Easter Egg hunt on the church's front lawn. Here is Johnnie hunting for eggs. It was hard to find them since they were hidden so well, can you tell?

Primary Easter Party

The first day Maggie came to visit was the Primary Easter Party.

Here comes Johnnie down the slide! This was one cold March day where Johnnie and I needed to get out. We are at the Danbury Mall where they have an inside play area. Johnnie had fun playing on the equipment and watching all the little kids run around.

It was a long and snowy winter. On this day the sun came out so we decided to put Johnnie's snowsuit on and go out and play

This was his first time walking in the snow by himself.
